Fun fact: "werewolf" is based on the Old English word "were" for man, and I'm sure I don't need to explain the word "wolf". So if you calqued werewolf to modern English, it'd be "manwolf". You can also find the word "were" in "weregild", which is literally "mangold", that is to say, the price of a man's life: basically how much you were fined for killing someone.
The counterpart to "were", the Old English word for a woman, was "wif", which you can find in "wife". So our heroine is about to become not a werewolf, but a wifwolf.
There are a lot of old names for dragon-like creatures. Wyrm, wyvern, lindorm, etc. In modern fantasy they generally all get to be their own unique variants on dragons. Being scared on snake-like monsters is hardwired in our brain (look up the "snake detection theory"!) so it's no wonder we imagined a lot of giant snake monsters.
I feel like she should maybe get a second opinion before committing to this approach to saving Farkas. Or at least make sure they're on the same terms for what they're trading: When she lets him in how long will he be staying? What does he plan on doing while he's in there?
Ah man, this gives me a great idea for a sequel. The Dragonborn learns from this whole ordeal and starts a Healer's Guild to press upon all medical diagnosis should get a second opinion. Never commit to something without a second opinion. That, or start the concept of lawyers in the Elder Scrolls universe, a firm specifically designed to help mortals navigate the complicated deals/contracts with Daedric Lords. XD
This is AMAZING!!! I love EVERYTHING about this story! The Companions Guild is ripe with potential storylines, and it’s so pleasing to see/read your own interpretation of your OC’s adventures within! Hircine bless you!

I'm curious, is there an Old English word for "dragon" that is different than it's modern version?
Remember kids, say no to
drugsblood! XDdrugsblood. Always! So many red flags, yet so much stubbornness to push herself into a bad situation.I mean, it IS a lot of blood!
As for that Hircine blessing, I'm not so sure I'd want one myself. Better to throw on my character. XD
although i cant remember for the life of me whether ovearll the vampire transformation or the werewolf one is better
